Our Intellectual Property

Agri Fibre Industries is set apart from other hemp producers by its exclusive Intellectual Property (IP) in the form of a reliable, quick and economical test for THC (delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive substance contained in cannabis.

This test has been extensively used in AFI’s plant breeding program to significantly reduce the average THC content to 0.1% or one fifth of the legal limit for industrial hemp crops.

Our company has developed what are seen as the best sub-tropical  strains of industrial hemp in the world, detailed below:

  • AFI’s plant breeding team has developed a suite of parent lines of industrial hemp through acquisition, breeding and selection
  •   Six varieties are currently protected by Plant Breeders Rights through IP Australia with three more in the pipeline.

The company’s intellectual property combined with its superior industrial hemp strains will assist AFI to create a profitable industry for our consumers and stakeholders.
